Season 4.5: Deadlock

10:05 PM

That reunion with Ellen and "Boomer" happened pretty quickly. I guess, with only a few episodes remaining, the writers have to move the story along.

How did "Boomer" know how to find the fleet? If "Boomer" can find it, why can't the rest of the Cylons?

10:19 PM

I notice that the Six who got into an altercation at the food line had super Cylon powers, she was able to beat up a whole bunch of men. Tori had super Cylon powers once. How do these super Cylon powers work? How come the humans can't detect Cylons if their bodies are so different that they have super Cylon powers?

Anyway, the main plot is that Ellen is mad at Tigh because he got Caprica Six pregnant.

10:33 PM

So Ellen is still an alcoholic. Gaius still has a Six in his brain, but I think this is the first time we've seen her in this half-season. We haven't really seen much of Gaius either. His worship-harem is pissed at him because he tried to give away their food stockpile to the needy, but men with guns came and took it all.

10:45 PM

Ellen voted to leave with the Cylons just to piss off Saul. That not the behavior I'd expect from a thousands-year-old woman with the brains to design new biological Cylons.

Before the commercial break, Caprica Six had some sort of pregnancy problem.

10:57 PM

Gaius told Bill Adama something about how Galactica is becoming "blended ship." Then Adama had his troops give a bunch of assault rifles to Gaius' worship harem.

I think Anders is coming out of his coma.

Comments:
Just over an hour to go. Let's get it on! Only five episodes left. Kind of sad. It seems like just yesterday I first heard about the mini-series and first season on Sci-Fi. Starbuck getting in the fight at the gambling table.

Looks like a good episode so far. Good opening sequence.

You know, that's something I've never understood either. In the first episodes, the cylons had super powers. In later episodes, they frequently got their tails whipped by humans.

The cylons with super fighting skills acquired them in the matrix with the help of Tank and/or Dozer. Some cylons don't have those mad skills OR, like callumkeithrennie-bot, choose in many situations to let the humans beat them up or kill them.

This show is really going down the proverbial shitter.

Yeah we're back to the old Ellen, of which I didn't care for her then, and I don't care for her now. Like someone said before me, she's not behaving like the thousand year old cylon-creating machine she should be. I really didn't care for this episode much at all. I had high hopes from the last one...but this past week did not deliver for me.

I have to agree with those who were disappointed with this episode. The change of pacing from the prior episode to this one almost gave me whiplash. Overall, this episode felt as if they were marking time before we get back to Starbuck in a major way and then do the 3-part series wrap-up.

I am a little surprised that so many seemed to find this episode lacking. There have a lot of episodes the past couple seasons where I just lost interest and stopped watching, but this one I found interesting. Maybe it was my frame of mind.

On an unrelated note, has anyone here watched "Life on Mars"? I find it fairly interesting. I've only seen the American version of the series, so know nothing of the Brit series.

"I am a little surprised that so many seemed to find this episode lacking"

Really?! Because this entire season has been not just lacking but insufferable drivel.

Well, I don't disagree about the season, but I thought this episode was one of the better ones.

Someone to watch over me.

Who is me and who is the someone!

We'll find out in less than two hours!
