Season 2 soundtrack

Well, my very first comment about the new Battlestar Galactica was that I missed the music.

A few days ago I was asked if I would review lastest musical soundtrack: Battlestar Galatica: Season 2. So I listened to the CD twice.

I take back what I said in the old post, there is music in the new series, it’s just very low key compared to the original series. The first track on the CD is titled “Colonial Anthem,” and this is in fact a new rendition of the old Battlestar Galactica music, and it’s great Wagner inspired classical music with lots of brass instruments. Wow!

The rest of the CD tends towards more of a new age sound and there are lots of drums. There are one of two songs with Enya-like singing in a foreign language.

The music of the new series fits in with the left wing inspired themes and the negative view of humanity. The old series martial music made you proud to be a human and not a Cylon.
