Resurrection Ship Part II

I did not like the way that the problem of getting rid of Cain was so conveniently solved by letting Baltar’s Cylon do it. Ronald Moore wimped out.

Roslin finally gave Adama the promotion that she should have given him two episodes ago.

In the original series, the Pegasus was destroyed, so it will be interesting to see what happens to it. So far Ronald Moore, while always twisting and gender-bendering the old plots, has generally kept true to the original story.

Before the Pegasus is destroyed, if that ever happens, it’s easy to predict a bunch of episodes where there is dissension between the crew of the Pegasus and the rest of the fleet.

Let’s review the old arc. The fleet flees the colonies, they find Kobol where they get some general information about Earth but not an exact location, they find the Pegasus, Cain dies and the Pegasus is destroyed, then they encounter the Ship of Lights and the Devil whose voice is the same as that of the Cylon’s first Imperious Leader, they capture Baltar (he was with the Cylons in the old series), and then they discover a human civilization that’s not Earth. It will be interesting to see if any of this happens this season.

Comments:
Sorry, no wimping out. It fits. Baltar is sympathetic to the Cylons. He was troubled by what they did to the woman that looked like the one he loved. We will start to see Baltar's real treason. Adama and Cain realized that the Cylons were the enemy, not themselves. I love it. Stop holding onto the old show so much. I want a re-invisioned BG, not a remake. Let the old show be the old show and let the new one be new.

While the intervention of the President between Cain and Adama would be a sensible action, it is uncertain how the Colonial government is currently operating. The situation would clearly allow for the imposing of martial law, which is hinted at with salvaging of Cain's civilan fleet. And, it would appear that the commanding military officer has the power to invoke martial law as well, as evidenced in previous episodes. So the firing of Cain might have been just of a wimp out as the cylon shooting Cain. Each are plausible given the situation.

Damn, get a life...

this is not "THE OLD SHOW" maybe you did not know that.most fans of the original show, who watched it when it was new, like me,(too many years ago) can like and almost love BOTH shows for what they are. 2 examples of fresh new entertainment.

Cain would of been a good anatagonist for the rest of the season. The season could of ended with the pegasus going back to Caprica and Starbuck having to choose who she wants to follow. Adama towards Earth or go back for Anders.

You said that in the orginal series the Pegasus was destroyed when in fact it was never truly established as certainty it's destuction. I've heard of a yet-unproduced feature film script that identifies the destroyed ship as that of a Battlestar-type ship from Earth that was trying to reach the colonies to warn of Count Iblis' imminent arrival. Apollo and Starbuck mistakenly believed the wreckage to be the Pegasus.

Has any else thought of getting some intel from the resurection ship. The pre-strike photos showed the bodies quite well. Why not found out what all the human cylons look like and start hanging the wanted posters around the fleet.

Adama's post is correct, as I remember the ending of the original Pegasus two-parter, the Pegasus "could have disappeared back into hyperspace" following Lloyd Bridges and Lorne Greene's firing of those giant missiles they carried against the Cylon base star.
