Liveblogging Resurrection Ship Part I

9:32 Trying a new experiment tonight, I'm going to liveblog tonight's episode of Battlestar Galactica.

9:33 Tonight's episode is part I. This leads me to believe that no one is going to die during the first segment of the show. So there will be some temporary resolution to Adama's action at the end of the last episode to launch Vipers to get his men back.

9:53 Liveblogging will give me something to do during the commercials.

10:00 The theme song from the classic 1970s show was so much better.

10:11 As predicted, no one got killed during the first segment of the show. Colonial One, the neutral meeting ground, is Roslyn's ship, she can promote Adama to a higher rank than Cain, but I don't think the writers are aware of that.

10:20 Cain and Starbuck have some sort of lesbian female bonding going on.

10:22 Glad to see Roslyn is on Adam's side. I'll be glad to see Cain taken out. What a bitch. Hopefully the Pegasus doesn't have to be destroyed in the process. The fleet could sure use a second battlestar.

10:35 Cain had innocent women and children massacred. She's a monster!!!

I don't think Adama owed Sharon an apology. She's a Cylon. An alien being genetically engineered to destroy the human race.

10:46 I wonder if Roslyn will ever be cured, or if they will let her die. She said what I had been thinking. Maybe the technology for saving her life lies with the Cylons.

I wonder if Gaius is going to get sex with the Number 6 clone he has been interrogating.

10:57 Uh oh. That lesbian bonding scene was important. Will Starbuck kill Cain like Adama wants her to? Or will she wuss out at the last minute? We'll have to wait until next week to find out.

Comments:
20 minutes into this new episode and I'm signing off.....watching Adama play second fiddle to that bitch Admiral ruined it for me.

Great show in the first season, though.

OK, OK....maybe I'll stay tuned to see how this one turns out. Great website - your play-by-play is helpful. I missed quite a few episodes this past season so I'm behind the times.

In the scene where Cain is looking at the Cylon fleet the woman in the window looked familiar. Any ideas?

If your question is in regards to Cain being familiar, she's from Star Trek Next Generation as Ensign Roe.

If you're talking about the woman she see's on the resurrection ship that is a bunch of cylon bodies of Number 6 -- the blond cylon in Baltars head -- and they were in some sort of storage pods.

She was happy because it's the same body she has in captivity, yet they weren't active.

Thanks, I was talking about the woman on the resurrection ship. My vision is poor and I thought maybe it looked like the president.

To bad Anonymous quit watching. Adama is not taking second to anyone. The ending of this episode was just as much a cliff hanger as the last. I wish people would stop directly comparing the new BG to the old one. Do not get me wrong, I like the original show, but the new BG is far superior. The new show is putting something good back into Sci Fi. The Suck Fi channel will not stop making stupid movies about killer bugs and all that crap. BG is something good and true. Do not compare it to the original. You will enjoy it better. Enjoy the time it does connect to the original. The new BG has to explore beyond the original. It has already doubled the episodes and will have a third season.

By the way. I think that whole lesbian thing is in your head. I did not get that at all. It was a face off of two people who always get their way.

So far, the storyline had an interesting habit of following yet twisting the original series events.

So I think somehow Pegasus will jump/otherwise not be around after the battle so Cain's XO will have no reason to act and Starbucks also would not have to be responsible.

If one wanted more twists, they can introduce Gallactica finding a small part of Pegasus's old civilian fleet and/or the attack on the Resurrection ship identifying a new cylon.

I agree with Trevor on the whole lesbian issue. It's in your head, but as of this point not something that flows from the story itself! I find in a plausible story line for this show, but not this relationship at this moment. This show has not held back on the sex and I find it hard to believe that it would be so subtle if that were going on. Your argument reminds me of the claim that "something MORE must be going on between the men in LotR because men don't usually have those types of relationships unless something untold is happening". To suggest, as you do, that people can't seem to get along unless there is sex behind the scenes is absolutely unfounded and absurd.

Lesbian bonding? Totally. It's set up to be a parallel of XO Tigh / Apollo and all their implicit ManSex.

Awesome idea!

It wouldn't exactly have been good tactics for Roslin to promote Adama to Admiral on board the ship.

It would be clear to Cain that it was done only to undermine her authority. And Cain would be left alive and very pissed off at both Adama and Cain.
