Saturday, September 17, 2005Flight of the PhoenixThe thing about the Cylons' "plan" is that it makes no sense. In this episode, it seemed like the only plan was to just kill all the humans. Are the Cylons actually working together or are there different factions? Do the human looking Cylons really run the show, or is there a non-human brain Cylon like the Imperious Leader from the original series? * * * Why isn't Roslyn dead yet? She supposedly only had a few months to live, but the show is almost a year old. I predict they will find a miracle cure at the last moment. Maybe Sharon the Cylon will provide the cure.
Comments:
Well, it was suggested she has only a month left to live today. But then she was suppose to find Earth before that time, right? I don't know what the frack is going on, but I will be watching.
The "human" cylons don't have a problem with sacrificing anything. They let Galactica Sharon blow up the Basestar so allowing all of those ships shut down so Caprica Sharon will look like she is able to help the fleet. They have not yet gone into how the new cylons are built or how the "human" ones are made. There could be a huge assembly factory on there own home world
As for the Prez dyin, she is a main character but there are options, she could die and Baltar takes over and continues to direct the fleet to the cylons. She is recreated as a cylon, (they have not said how the first 12 were created)or Zarek finds a way to take over and becomes the dictator that he has called every other leader.
Maybe the Cylons need the humans to find the Earth and then they will destroy all humans. ;-)
On the other site I think we will see some fights between the Cylons, especially between the human Cylons. I think not every of them will be willing to kill all humans.
The show is a year old, but that does not reflect the timeline of the show. "The Flight of the Phoenix" takes place only a short time after the season 1 finale. And it has only been a matter of months since the mini-series. The president might last for another season or two based on the pace they are going.
There has been no indication that the Cylons know that Sharon is pregnant. They might know that she is on the Galactica, which makes her a liability to them.
Are you sure? I'm pretty sure the cylons are aware of her pregnancy.
I find it all very convoluted in terms of what the cylon plan and strategy is. Much of it doesn't make sense, and there are a lot of holes in the logic of how the cylons are dealing with the humans. As much as I enjoy the series and am riveted, there are a lot of flaws in the storyline plots.
I wrote a review of this on my site.
Plus I put up some Galactica comedy photo.s Incidentally: the cylons know all about sharon, it was in that frakkin video by that frakkin Lucy lawless >>>>>*spoiler >>>cylon. Galactic Stooges: http://www.damageready.com
Trevor - have you even been WATCHING this show ? What are you talking about ? Of course they know about pregnant Sharon on BSG - what do you think "Final Cut" last week was all about ?!
Actually "Final Cut" is the only episode that I have missed. So, I might not have all of the info. Outside of that episode their is no concrete evidence that the Cylons know that Sharon is pregnant, even though that was their intention by putting Sharon with Helo.
Their might be some plot holes, but I say most of it is unexplained more than holes. Of course we go back week after week to watch it because we want to know it all. If they came out an told us everything, would we still want to watch?
Veggiedude: Roslin won't be alive when they reach Earth -- if you revisit the episode where Roslin & Elosha go over the prophecy, it's made clear that the "dying leader" actually does die before the people she leads find Earth.
I imagine she'll die before the end of the second half of this season. It has been less than seven months since the start of the series -- remember, in "Bastille Day" its made clear that the surviving colonists will hold elections in seven months. That hasn't happened yet, and that does at least tell us how long it HASN'T been.
Keep the Pegasus for the of next season, find Earth too. Then the show should start generate more interesting storylines. Don't get rid of the pegasus.

have you not been watching the show? It's all part of gods plan, destiny, fate, etc. the toasters are there, simply to push them like cattle towards kobol and earth, if it were easy the fleet would know something is up. the ultimate plan is very simple, and transparent, cylons develope human characteristics, and knowing the humans will always try and destroy them, and their will to live, they interbreed the races on earth, thus eliminating the war, but leaving behind genetic triggers. the humans evolve for a few millenia, trigger some sleepers, start colonizing another planet - kobol, more sleepers awake a few millenia later, destroy kobol, restart the colonies and develop cylons, and the cycle begins again. 12 cylon archetypes, 12 lords of kobol, it all mets up, knowing mr eick
